Mind & Motion VR - Canyon Environment & Progression

This is one of the environments I worked on for the Mind & Motion product at RealizedCare. Mind & Motion is a VR application that uses gamification to make physical therapy more engaging. I created concept art for this environment, designed its visual progression, and built the scene in Unity. The scene was optimized for use on the Oculus Quest 2 headset.

This is the last section of the environment's progression. I created the shader and VFX used to achieve this segment.

This is the vegetation shader. It uses a world-based opacity mask to fade the groups of plants in from the bottom meshes to the top. A fresnel and sparkle texture overlay were added to the albedo for extra color variation and visual flair.

All scene models. There are 17 in total. The rocks were scultped in Zbrush and then retopologized in Maya.
